Jordan Belfort

 Jordan Ross Belfort is an American financial criminal, speaker, book author former stockbroker, entrepreneur and ex-stockbroker. In 1999, he was convicted of guilty to fraud and related charges related to manipulation of the stock market as well as running a boiler room in a penny-stock fraud. Belfort spent 22 months in prison in accordance with an agreement that required him to testify against his co-workers and other subordinates who were involved in the scheme. He wrote his memoir The Wolf of Wall Street in 2007 and was adapted into a Martin Scorsese film of the same name released in 2013. In the film, he was played by Leonardo DiCaprio.Between the time he graduated from high school and transferring to the college of his choice, Belfort and his close childhood friend Elliot Loewenstern earned $20,000 selling Italian Ice from styrofoam coolers for sale to local residents at the beach. Belfort was a graduate of American University in Biology. Belfort was planning to use the earnings from Loewenstern to fund dental school. He was accepted into The University of Maryland School of Dentistry. He left after the dean of the school said to him on his first dayat the school "The golden age of dentistry has ended. If you're in this place because you're hoping to earn lots of money, you're in the wrong location. Belfort's first wife Denise Lombardo and Belfort divorced during the time he was running Stratton Oakmont. He later married Nadine Caridi, a British-born, Bay Ridge
