She is famous for her performance as Mystique in the original trilogy (2000-2006) of the X-Men film series as Joan in the film The Punisher (2004) (both inspired on Marvel Comics), the double role as Laure Ash and Lily Watts in Femme Fatale (2002) as well as the role of the role of Number One in Star Trek: Discovery (2019) and Star Trek: Strange New Worlds (2022-present). Her other roles include an ongoing role as Alexis Meade on the television show Ugly Betty.
