Michelle Suzanne Dockery [better source needed] (born 15 December 1981) is an English actress in film and television. Her most well-known character is Lady Mary Crawley, an ITV period drama series. The show received nominations for the Golden Globe Award and three Primetime Emmy Awards. Dockery also made her professional stage debut in His Dark Materials in 2004. She was nominated for the Evening Standard Award for her part in the London revival of Pygmalion 2007. In the 2009 play Burnt by the Sun, she was awarded an Olivier Award nomination for Best Supporting Actress. Dockery was in the films Hanna (2011) as well as Anna Karenina (2012). She also appeared in Non-Stop (2014) and The Gentlemen (2019).
