 Mariah Carey, born March 27 1969, is an American singer-songwriter and actress. She is also a record producer and actress. She is known as "Songbird Supreme" or "Queen of Christmas" and is well-known for her 5-octave vocal range and signature whistle use. Carey became famous in 1990 when she released her debut album titled "Emotions. She was the first artist to have her first five songs make it to the top spot on the Billboard Hot 100, from "Vision of Love" to "Emotions".Carey's debut album came out under the guidance of Columbia Records executive Tommy Mottola who she later married three years after her wedding. Carey was able to achieve additional success with the albums Music Box (1993), Merry Christmas (1994), and Daydream (1995), with songs like "Hero", "Without You", "All I Want for Christmas is You", "Fantasy", "Always Be My Baby" as well as "One Sweet Day" which was the top single on the US Billboard Hot 100 decade-end chart (1990s).
