Dolly Rebecca Parton, born on January 19, 1946 was an American actress and singer-songwriter. She is also a philanthropist actress, businesswoman, and philanthropist. Her work in the field of country music is her main goal. Parton's popularity as a songwriter prompted her to release her first album in 1967 with Hello, I'm Dolly. This was followed by success throughout the 1960s, as a solo artist and also in the series she recorded with Porter Wagoner, before she achieved her highest sales in the 1970s and continued into the 1980s. Although Parton's 1990s albums were not well-received however, she did make commercial success during the new millennium. She has since released albums under various independent labels which include Dolly Records. She has sold more than 100 million albums worldwide.Parton's music is Recording Industry Association of America (RIAA)-certified gold, platinum and multi-platinum award. 25 of her songs have made it to the top. She reached no. 1 on the Billboard country charts and set a record for a female singer (tied to Reba McEntire). Her 44 Top 10 Country Albums are the best of any artist.
