Celine Marie Claudette dion CC OQ was born 30 March 1968. Her powerful and technically skilled voice, Dion is the best-selling Canadian recording artist and also the top-selling French-language artist ever. Her music is a blend of genres like rock, pop, R&B gospel, and classical music.Born into a large family in Charlemagne, Quebec, Dion emerged as a teen star in her native country, by releasing a number of albums in French during the 1980s. She first gained international recognition through winning the 1982 Yamaha World Popular Song Festival as well as the 1988 Eurovision Song Contest, where she was a representative of Switzerland. After getting fluent in English, she signed up for Epic Records in the United States. The debut album of Dion in 1990 in English, Unison, was her first album. This led to her becoming the most popular pop artist across North America as well as other English-speaking countries. Her subsequent albums were mostly in English and French however she has sung in Spanish, Italian, German, Latin, Japanese, and Chinese.
