Tulsi Gabbard

 Tulsi Gabbard was born on the 12th of April in 1981. She is an American politician and United States Army Reserve officer. Gabbard was the first Hindu member of Congress and also the first Samoan-American voting member of Congress. She was a candidate for the Democratic nomination in the 2020 United States presidential election, prior to quitting the Democratic Party and becoming an independent candidate in October 2022.In 2002, Gabbard was elected to the Hawaii House of Representatives at the age of 21. Gabbard was a member of a field medical unit that was part of the Hawaii Army National Guard while deployed to Iraq between 2004 and 2005. She also served in Kuwait between 2008 and 2009 as an Army Military Police platoon leader. She was a participant in Congress and served as vice-chairperson of the Democratic National Committee (DNC) between 2013 and 2016. In 2016 she resigned her position to endorse Bernie Sanders' 2016 Democratic presidential campaign.
