Mary Louise

 Mary-Louise Parker was born August 2 1964. She is an American actress. After her Broadway debut as Rita in Craig Lucas' Prelude to a Kiss in 1990 (for which she was awarded a Tony Award nomination), Parker came to prominence for film roles in Grand Canyon (1991), Fried Green Tomatoes (1991), The Client (1994), Bullets over Broadway (1994), A Place for Annie (1994), Boys on the Side (1995), The Portrait of a Lady (1996) and The Maker (1997). Between performances on stage and in independent films thereafter, Parker received the 2001 Tony Award for Best Actress in the Play for her performance as Catherine Llewellyn in David Auburn's Proof as well as other awards. She starred as Amy Gardner on NBC's television series The West Wing from 2001 until 2006. The role she played was so well-known that she received a nomination in 2002 for the Primetime Emmy Award in Outstanding Supporting Actress in the Drama Series. For her role as Harper Pitt in HBO's acclaimed miniseries Angels in America, she received both the Golden Globe Award and a Primetime Emmy Award.
