Maggie Gyllenhaal

 Margalit Ruth Gyllenhaal (/'dZIl@nho:lborn November 16 1977), known as Maggie Gyllenhaal, is an American actor and filmmaker. The Gyllenhaal clan she is the daughter of film makers Stephen Gyllenhaal and Naomi Achs and the elder sibling of actor Jake Gyllenhaal.She began her acting career when she was a teenager and had minor roles in some of her father's films, as well as a role alongside her brother in the film that became a cult hit Donnie Darko (2001). She then appeared in Adaptation, Confessions of a Dangerous Mind (both 2002), and Mona Lisa Smile (2003). Gyllenhaal was praised by critics for her performance in the erotic comedy Secretary (2002) and the action drama Sherrybaby (2006), each of which resulted in the Golden Globe Award nomination. After several commercially successful films in 2006, such as World Trade Center, she was recognized for her role as Rachel Dawes in the superhero film The Dark Knight (2008).
