Jane Seymour

Jane Seymour (c. 1508 - - 24 October 1537) was the Queen of England as the third wife of King Henry VIII of England from their wedding on May 30th 1536 until her death next year. After Anne Boleyn, Henry's second wife was executed, she became Queen. Two weeks after having given birth to her sole child, future Henry VI, the future King Edward VI, she died from complications after giving birth. Henry's only wife, Jane, was the one who would have a burial in the Queen's honour or be buried with Henry at St George's Chapel at Windsor Castle. She could read and write somewhat, but was much more skilled in household management and needlework, which were considered much more essential for women. Her needlework was described as beautiful and intricate Some of it was preserved even into 1652 when it ane became an official maid-of-honour to Queen Catherine, but may have been used as early as 1527, and continued to serve Queen Anne with her sister.
