Elton John

 Sir Elton Hercules John CH CBE (born Reginald Kenneth Dwight; 25 March 1947) is an English pianist, singer and composer as well as philanthropist. The most popular nickname is"the "Rocket Man" following his hit 1972 single of the same title, John has led a commercially successful career as a solo artist since the 1970s and has released 31 albums from 1969. John has been working with Bernie Taupin, lyricist, since 1967. He is highly regarded by critics and musicians alike particularly for his 1970s work and his impact on the music industry. John's music, showmanship and music have had a profound influence on pop music. His songwriting partnership with Taupin is among the most successful in history.John was born in the Pinner suburb of London and learned to play piano from an early age, forming the blues band Bluesology in the year 1962. After leaving Bluesology in the year 1967, to begin on a solo career, John met Taupin when they both replied to an advertisement seeking writers. Two years later they composed songs for other artists.
