Christina Renee Hendricks was born on May 3 1975. She is an American actress. She has enjoyed a lengthy career on screen and stage, earning numerous accolades including six Primetime Emmy Award nominations and two Screen Actors Guild Awards. The critics also awarded her two Critics ' Choice Awards for Best Supporting Actress in a Drama Series. Her most notable part is as Joan Harris on the AMC drama series Mad Men. Esquire magazine rated her as the "sexiest woman" in 2010 following a survey of female readers. She was also voted "Best Looking Woman in America".Born to an American mother and English father in Knoxville, Tennessee, Hendricks was born in Portland, Oregon, and Twin Falls, Idaho, where she became active in the local theatre. After completing high school in Virginia and moving to New York City and pursued modeling as a profession following her entry into a Seventeen Cover Contest. She continued to work as a model for over 10 years before deciding to move into acting.
