Jamaican sprinter Usain Bolt has a net worth in excess of $90 million. Usain Bolt, at his peak was the fastest person on the planet, and also one of the most highly-paid athletes in particular in the Olympics. Usain earned $20-30 million per year in the years leading up to the Olympics. He is, without doubt the highest-paid athlete in track and field ever. It is likely that the majority of his income were from endorsements, not on-track competition prizes. Puma, the German shoe maker, paid Usain $9 million per year for the privilege of wearing their footwear on and off the track. Usain also earned millions through contracts with Visa, Nissan and Gatorade. Bolt's autobiography, which is a best-selling book is published in 2010 by Harper Collins. The advance included a multi-million-dollar increase. Usain also has appearance fees ranging from $250,000 to as high as $500,000 for participation in track and field events throughout the world. Usain has been awarded eight gold medals in his Olympic career. He holds several world records, including 100 meters (9.58 seconds) and the 200 meters (19.19).
