 American producer and director Ken Burns has a net value of $3.5 million. Ken Burns is an American filmmaker, known for his many documentaries and documentary series on a variety of historical subjects. Some of his most well-known work include "The Civil War,"" "Jazz," "Prohibition," "The Roosevelts," and "The Vietnam War." Burns his filmmaking style has been praised for his use of archival footage and slow zooms in and out of images, a technique dubbed the "Ken Burns effect. "Burns has also been awarded more than 20 honorary degrees. His film "The Civil War" was a huge success, winning more than 40 major TV and film awards, including two Emmy Awards and two Grammy Awards, Producer of the Year Award (from the Producers Guild of America) and the People's Choice Award and a Peabody Award. He also received a duPont–Columbia Prize as well as a D. W. Griffith Award. The $50,000 Lincoln Prize was awarded to the actor. The documentary he made in 2017 "The Vietnam War" was also lauded.There is a Ken Burns Wing at the Jerome Liebling Center for Film, Photography and Video at Hampshire College. In 2004, Burns was awarded the S. Roger Horchow Award for the most outstanding public service by an Individual Citizen. This award is handed out annually by Jefferson Awards.
