Alex Trebek

 Alex Trebek, a Canadian-born American game host, had a net that was in excess of $75 million at his time of death. He was best known for his role as host of the syndicated game show "Jeopardy!". He hosted the show from 1984 until his demise in November 2020. Trebek, 80, died after a long battle with pancreatic cancer. He was born in Sudbury Ontario, Canada, July 22nd in 1940. His father, George Edward Trebek, was an immigrant form Ukraine. His mother Lucille was Franco-Ontarian. He was bilingual in English as well as French. He was a student at Sudbury High School, now Sudbury Secondary School. There he pursued his studies at University of Ottawa. In 1961, he earned a philosophy degree. The same year, he also began his television career working for the Canadian Broadcasting Corporation (CBC). He began by working as an announcer's replacement, eventually moving on to read national news and cover a wide range of special events for both radio and television divisions of the CBC.
