 American actor and singer-songwriter Catherine Louise Sagal (/s@’ga:l/; was born January 19 1954) is also called Katey Sagal. She is famous for her roles as Peggy Bundy on Married... with Children (1987-1997), Leela on Futurama (1999-2003, 2008-2013 2023), Cate Hennessy on 8 Simple Rules (2002-2005), Gemma Teller Morrow on the FX series Sons of Anarchy (2008-2014) and won the Golden Globe Award for Best Actress - Television Series Drama in 2011, Dr. Jones on Shameless (2018-2019) and Louise Goldufski-Conner on The Conners (2018-present).Her godfather is sitcom producer and writer Norman Lear. In 2016, both Katey and Norman acknowledged that she was not just his goddaughter, but she also introduced her parents to each other. [citation required] Sagal has said that she is "culturally Jewish" but with no "formal religious affiliation. "Sagal began her career in showbusiness as a songwriter and singer. She sang backing for the album of Bob Dylan's 1973.
