Carrie Marie Underwood, born March 10, 1983 is an American country artist. After being the winner of season four of American Idol 2005, she rose to fame. She was the first country artist to make it to the top of the Billboard Hot 100 charts and the only solo country artist to make it to the top spot on the Hot 100 in 2000s. Some Hearts, her debut album, was accompanied by the pop-punk singles "Jesus, Take the Wheel", and "Before He Cheats". It became the most successful solo female debut album in the history of country music. She received three Grammy Awards for the album and also won Best New Artist. The following studio album, Carnival Ride (2007) was one of the most significant opening weeks of all time by a female artist , and won two Grammy Awards. The third album of her studio, "Play On", was preceded by the single "Cowboy Casanova", and she won two Grammy Awards.
